The tallest house in china is how many floors. Skyscrapers china
China has officially halted the construction of the previously announced "tallest building in the world."
Work on the Sky City skyscraper - the tallest building in the world - was stopped almost immediately after the start of construction. The government’s decree said that Broad Group, the contractor, did not receive “any building permits,” the Chinese newspaper Xiaoxiang Morning Post reports.
According to the project, the 838-meter building was supposed to be the tallest in the world, breaking the height record by 10 meters, which has been holding the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai for several years.
The construction of Sky City was to take four months, not counting the foundation; nine, if we take into account bureaucratic delays, Broad Group said. According to the preliminary schedule, the building would have been ready by April 2014, and in May or June, up to 30 thousand people could have settled in Sky City.
Broad Group, whose main field of activity is the production of air conditioners, conducted a large-scale advertising campaign, promising to finish the building quickly, on time and without exceeding the estimate of one and a half billion dollars. Some experts were critical of the idea from the very beginning: according to them, it is very problematic, if at all possible, to build a building of such height for a given period of time that meets all safety regulations. The official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party called the idea "blind worship in front of skyscrapers" and expressed doubts about the need for a "heavenly city."
China is home to three of the ten tallest buildings in the world. Also in the list of the highest "residential" skyscrapers are:
The aforementioned Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE (828 meters)
The name in Arabic means "Caliph's Tower." Built in the form of a stalagmite, the tower has its own internal park and several boulevards, and the surface area of the skyscraper is equal to the total area of 17 football fields.
Abraj Al Beit Towers in Saudi Arabia (601 meters)
The Royal Watch Towers complex is located directly opposite the entrance to the Al-Haram Mosque, in the courtyard of which is the Kaaba, the main shrine of Islam. Most of the building is occupied by the hotel, which is able to accommodate about 100 thousand pilgrims from the 5 million who come here annually.
Taipei 101, Taiwan (508 meters)
The building has the fastest elevators in the world - their speed is 60 km / h. To hold a skyscraper weighing 700 thousand tons during a hurricane or frequent earthquakes for this area, engineers installed a huge pendulum ball inside the building - with its help the tower can withstand even with sufficiently strong tremors. The builders issued a “guarantee” two and a half thousand years in advance.
Shanghai World Financial Center, PRC (492 meters)
For its original appearance around the world, the center is unofficially called the "opener". During the construction, architects and engineers took into account the sad experience of the September 11 disaster, when people who were above the floor on which the fire occurred could not go down. On each twelfth floor of the building there are special sections where, in an emergency, people can take refuge before the arrival of rescuers.
International Commercial Center, Hong Kong (484 meters)
The tallest building in Hong Kong has its own observatory, a five-star hotel and the most "upstream" swimming pool in the world.
Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (451.9 meters)
Two towers were built at the same time by different construction companies to create competition, but, despite this, are completely identical to each other. The towers are interconnected by a covered bridge, which provides fire safety of the building.
Nanjing Greenland Financial Center, Nanjing, PRC (450 meters)
The third tallest building in China; literally, the name translates as "High-rise building" Purple Peak "in Nanjing."
Willis Tower, USA (442.1 meters)
The upper part of the Willis Tower is considered the highest point in Illinois, and due to the somewhat asymmetric design, which puts a strain on the foundation, the building is 10 centimeters tilted to the west.
The Chinese again surprised the world: this time with the record-breaking fast construction of a skyscraper. In the city of Changsha, in only 19 days, a tower with a height of 57 floors was built.
The secret of Broad Sustainable Buildings (BSB), which built the Mini Sky City skyscraper, lies in the technology of assembling the building structure from steel modules. Simply put, the tower was erected according to the principle of the LEGO designer from the blocks that are manufactured at the factory.
The use of prefabricated structures reduced the need for concrete, the delivery of which would require at least 15 thousand trucks. Thus, it was possible to significantly reduce the level of environmental pollution in the construction zone.
Mini Sky City has an area of 180 thousand square meters. It will accommodate 800 apartments, as well as a large office space for 4 thousand people.
Such a speed of construction does not affect the quality of work, assured the BSB. The modular skyscraper is resistant even to earthquakes of magnitude 9 points!
One of the most important features of Mini Sky City, unlike other skyscrapers in Changsha, is the active use of green technologies. For example, triple air purification is used here both indoors and outdoors. And four-tier double-glazed windows can reduce the emission of carbon dioxide into the air by about 12 tons compared to other skyscrapers of this size.
The construction technology of steel modules developed by BSB engineers has been applied before. The tallest built building was a 30-story hotel in Hunan Province, assembled in 15 days in 2012. Then the cost of building one square meter of skyscraper was about $ 1000.
BSB's plans for the future are no less ambitious: the company announced its readiness to build a 200-story Sky City skyscraper with a height of 838 meters in just 90 days. The exact date of the start of construction has not yet been announced.

China continues to amaze the world with architectural achievements. To myself long bridge made of glass and the second tallest skyscraper the world's largest skyscraper bridge will soon be added in the world - a horizontal tower raised to a height of 250 m.
Another Chinese miracle is being erected by CapitaLand in Chongqing. The author of the project is architect Moshe Safdi. The horizontal skyscraper, called the Conservatory, is a curved structure supported by four towers 250 m high. Two more “skyscrapers” are built nearby - 350 m each. All buildings will be connected by elevated passages. In total, the Raffles City Chongqing project will have eight towers. They have a mixed purpose - they will house apartments, offices, retail space and hotels. The conservatory will perform recreational functions: there will be an infinity pool, gardens and observation decks.
The horizontal tower is structurally a steel frame weighing 12 thousand tons, filled with glass and metal panels. For the construction you will need 3200 glass and 4800 aluminum panels. A CapitaLand press release explains what phases the construction will go through. The entire structure will be assembled from 9 segments. Four of them will be assembled right on the spot - on each of the four towers. Three intermediate segments are welded on the ground and lifted into place by hydraulic jacks. The two extreme segments will be assembled from short sections at the installation site.
Installation of the skyscraper tunnel framework is planned to be completed by the middle of this year. The remaining stages - from glazing to tree planting - will be completed next year, when the building is expected to open.
Raffles City Chongqing is being built according to LEED Gold environmental standard. To reduce energy consumption for air conditioning, measures are taken to reduce the absorbed heat, an effective irrigation system. Much attention is also paid to the disposal of construction waste and the use of recycled materials.
Safety measures, including seismic and wind resistance, of the whole complex of buildings are being developed by the engineering company Arup.
Work in a large company is not only a busy schedule and frequent business trips, but also an opportunity to see the world. Our company cooperates with one Chinese company, so several times a year I go to. The country, in my opinion, is very contrasting. I traveled a lot around the world, but in China, I assure you, there is something to see.
Most impressive are tall skyscrapers, the tops of which go high into the sky. Such buildings, I boldly call works of art. They absolutely can not be compared with ordinary houses, which we used to see in our cities. They look amazing. Tons of metal and glass, interesting designs. As a result, we see modern buildings towering hundreds of meters above our heads. The view that opens up is breathtaking. By the way, if the height of the building is less than 150 meters, then it cannot be called a skyscraper.
Three of the structures included in the list of the highest in China:
- Shanghai Tower
- World Financial Center in Shanghai (Shanghai World Financial Center);
- International Commerce Center in Hong Kong.

The Shanghai Tower is not only the tallest building in China, but also very, very beautiful. Just imagine, its height is 632 meters. The building has 131 floors. This tower was built not so long. The entire period of its creation lasted from 2008 to 2015. Tourists can climb to the very top, there are special viewing platforms. I think such a walk in the clouds is not for those who are afraid of heights. In the tower itself there are many interesting things: restaurants, galleries, hotels and more. In the evening, the tower glows with a million lights, the view is simply amazing. If you ever go to
