Features of the gold credit card from VTB. Credit cards, the nuances of obtaining and using What a credit card holder should know

CREDIT BANK CARDS
Credit card is an electronic means of payment that is used to perform transactions by the cardholder using funds provided by a credit institution to a client within the spending limit.
As follows from Article 3 of the Federal Law of December 21, 2013 No. 353-FZ "On consumer credit (loan)" (hereinafter referred to as the Federal Law on consumer credit), funds can be provided by the lender to the borrower using electronic means of payment (credit card). The relationship between the bank and the credit card holder is based on a consumer loan agreement with a credit limit. In this regard, a credit card is similar to a consumer loan.
At the time a credit card is issued, a bank account is opened for a bank client on the basis of a bank account agreement, which provides for transactions using credit cards, concluded in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation.
To make payments provided for by the payment schedule under the consumer loan agreement, bank payment terminals and ATMs with the function of accepting cash are used.
The most common credit cards are those with a grace period, that is, a period during which the bank will not charge interest on the loan. The grace period is usually 30-50 days.
It should be noted that the grace period may begin not from the moment the card is spent, but from the moment the consumer receives a credit card. In addition, the grace period, as a rule, is valid only for non-cash payments. When cashing out funds from a credit card through an ATM, the grace period does not apply, and interest for using the loan begins to accrue from the moment the funds are debited from the account.
Credit cards should be distinguished from debit cards with an authorized overdraft, which in Russian practice are often also called "credit".
Overdraft - a loan provided by a bank to a client in the event of insufficient or absence of the client's funds on the bank account (card) (part 1 of article 850 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). An overdraft loan is negotiated when opening an account (card) and cannot exceed a fixed amount.
In other words, a debit card with an authorized overdraft allows making payments both at the expense of the cardholder's funds deposited in the bank account, and at the expense of a loan provided by the bank in case of insufficient funds on the account. At the same time, credit is provided to the cardholder only if payments are made using it and there is not enough funds on the client's account to pay them.
Prior to the entry into force of the Federal Law on consumer loans, credit institutions often included in contracts of various types with individuals a condition that directly stipulated the latter's consent to the bank's sending credit cards or to the bank's offer of other products in the future.
The current Federal Law on consumer loans does not directly prohibit the distribution of credit cards.
However, the new requirements of the above Law actually make it impossible to conclude a consumer loan agreement by mailing credit cards to the borrower and, in general, mailing credit cards without the prior consent of the borrower:
1) Article 7 of the Federal Law on consumer credit establishes a new procedure for concluding a consumer credit (loan) agreement using a credit card, which provides, inter alia, the execution of the borrower's application for a loan, the provision of individual terms of the agreement to the borrower, as well as the term for expressing his consent with individual conditions.
2) Art. 8 of the Federal Law on consumer loans contains an indication that when a consumer loan is issued using an electronic means of payment (credit card), it must be transferred to the borrower by the lender at the location of the bank (its structural unit), and if there is a separate written consent of the borrower - at the address specified by the borrower when concluding the consumer loan agreement, in a way that makes it possible to unambiguously establish that the electronic means of payment was received by the borrower personally or by his authorized representative. The transfer and use of an electronic means of payment by the borrower is allowed only after the lender has completed the identification of the client in accordance with the requirements provided by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Thus, in the Federal Law on consumer credit, the legislator pursued, among other things, the goal of restricting any distribution of bank cards without a request (consent) from customers, as well as limiting the place and method of transferring credit cards to borrowers.
Sberbank of Russia Mosoblbank credit card bank cardWhatever international payment system you belong to payment cards, and no matter how attractive design banks use when issuing them, the principles of the cards are subject to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the banking legislation of the Russian Federation and are set out in the Regulations of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
The basic principles of the functioning of payment cards are set out in the Regulation of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation "On the issue of bank cards and on transactions carried out using payment cards" (approved by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on 24.12.2004 N 266-P) (revised on 23.09.2008).

The layout of the front and back sides of a conventional bank payment card looks like this:
The front side of a bank card may have the following elements and designations:
- The name and surname of the cardholder - in Latin transcription.
- Card expiration date - month and last two digits of the year
- The name and logo of the payment system with which the card is serviced.

- Owner's signature paper strip
- CVV2 or CVC2 - authentication code, not found on all card categories. On American Express cards, the code is located on the front side (a four-digit number above the card number)
- Magnetic stripe (black)
The appearance of bank cards
What kind of card appearance does the bank choose? For example, I will give the types of bank cards of the three most popular banks among the population:
When considering the above samples of plastic cards of the above banks, it can be stated that, despite the presence of various color drawings, images are clearly visible on all cards: the name and logo of the bank, the logo and name of the international payment system (VISA, Maestro, MasterCard), card number, etc. .d.
On the front side of the card, any specific drawing can be applied, and the logo and the name of the bank can be located on top, but in any places determined by the bank designer (right or left). As a rule, the basic color scheme and pattern for each bank has its own peculiarity peculiar only to this bank.
A bank card can be issued to an individual, regardless of his citizenship (both resident and non-resident). The issuance of bank cards to the client and the performance of operations on the bank account with their use is carried out on the basis of an agreement
Today, credit cards are in great demand and are present in the wallets of many Russian citizens who can no longer imagine their life without a credit card. Of course, this loan product, in comparison with other types of bank lending, is quite convenient and profitable.
And to holders of credit plastic with a grace period, financial institutions even promise that in case of a timely return of funds to the card account, they will not overpay anything. In addition, lenders, in order to increase their client base and their own profits, do not tire of advertising other advantages from using credit cards, the list of which is very significant.
But is everything so perfect in reality and is there a catch in the promises of banking organizations?
What should a credit card holder know?
First of all, it should be said that all banks are commercial structures, and their main task is to get the maximum profit from their activities and not a single creditor will work for free, moreover, this is prohibited by Russian law.
In this regard, every time a financial institution offers a potential borrower to borrow funds from him for temporary use absolutely free of charge, there is definitely a catch in this, because, as mentioned earlier, free borrowing options simply do not exist, and in any In the event, you will have to pay for the use of credit money.
Trick one: grace period
According to the terms of the loan agreement, thanks to the grace period, within the period established by the issuing bank, the borrower can use the funds of the financial institution, and with their timely return, not overpay a penny to the lender.
However, not everything is so simple in this case, the main trap of such a bank benefit is hidden in the correct calculation of the “free” borrowing period. The duration of this period is stipulated in the loan agreement and often fluctuates in the range of 30-60 days. The same document contains information that, for example, that the estimated period is from the first to the twenty-fifth day of the next month.
If the borrower has a credit card with an interest-free period of 55 days and pays for any purchase in the store on, say, the twentieth, do not assume that the borrower has 55 days for the interest-free return of the loan funds.
Most likely, the grace period granted to the holder of the credit plastic ends on the 25th next month, that is, after 35 days. The borrower will be able to take full advantage of this grace period if he uses a credit card on the first day.
It is precisely this moment that credit structures do not deliberately explain to applicants who, having miscalculated the grace period, are forced to pay not only interest for using the bank's money, but also those assigned for delays that the borrower did not even suspect.
Trick two: reissue of credit plastic without notifying the borrower
Like any other bank card, a credit card has its own validity period, after which the credit plastic will be reissued. At the same time, it often happens that the credit card holder is in no hurry to contact the lender with a request to reissue the credit card or even, on the contrary, having completely paid off all debts, believes that relations with the banking organization have ceased.
However, it turns out that the financial institution has already issued a new credit plastic without informing its client about the action. The credit card holder himself may not even suspect that a new card has already been issued and she is waiting for him at the bank's office.
For the lender, such situations are beneficial, since while the credit card falls into the hands of the borrower, a rather large debt may already be formed on his account, which is formed due to commissions (service fees, reissuance, SMS notification, and so on) and impending penalties.
Ploy three: failed attempts to close a credit card
Quite often, holders of credit plastic mistakenly believe that having paid off their debts in full and stopping using a credit card, they terminate relations with the issuing bank and no more debt can arise.
Nevertheless, an activated credit card, even if the borrower does not use it, can "drive" him into debt, because the repeatedly mentioned commissions will be charged without the knowledge of the cardholder.
That is why borrowers should close their credit card correctly, that is, they need to contact a financial institution and write a corresponding statement.
In addition, you need to ask the credit manager for a statement, which will indicate that the borrower is not in debt, and the lender has no claims. True, the above list of banking traps is far from being exhaustive, and whether the borrower gets caught in them or not will depend only on him.
You should be vigilant when studying the loan agreement, it is necessary to clarify the availability of all kinds of commissions and the scheme for calculating the grace period. And, of course, already being a holder of credit plastic, to control the balance on the card account.
A good credit card with a significant limit, lots of bonuses and options, and inexpensive service is not easy to get. In this article, we will tell you what kind of client you need to be so that banks are ready to offer you the most favorable conditions.
A credit card can usually be obtained by a citizen of the country aged 21 to 75 years. Owners of credit cards must either be registered in the region where the bank branch is located, or at least have a temporary registration there. In addition, the future owner of a credit card must have a work experience of at least one year, and at the last job he must have been listed for at least 4 months (preferably more than 6 months).
Quite often, the bank requires the client to provide a certificate of income. You will also need to draw up an application, present a passport and another document that will prove your identity. In addition, sometimes a copy of the work book is needed. The client must not have a negative credit history.
More stringent requirements
Some financial institutions are strict with their clients, limiting age requirements to strict limits and requiring a more significant list of documents. For example, there might be the following requirements:
- Age 23-55 years old;
- Salary from 10-20 thousand rubles. depending on the region;
- Documents on education, assets, etc .;
- Home phone availability.
Minimum Requirements
Some banks issue credit cards to clients from 14 to 65 years old with a minimum work experience of at least 3 months. However, when choosing such programs, clients should be aware that they are seriously losing out on the terms of the loan, i.e. at an interest rate. That is why it is better to contact a bank that has higher requirements for solvency, but also provides more favorable conditions.
VTB Bank offers its clients a wide range of debit and credit cards for registration. The simplest of them is Classic. However, in order to emphasize your status and receive additional privileges, you need to order a card that is higher than Standard and Classic plastic.

The cardholder can be a client of any category of the population. This list also includes students and senior citizens. In addition, parents can arrange debit cards for their children by connecting them to their main account. - availability of official employment;
- age from 21 years (at the time of the conclusion of the contract) to 65 years;

Benefits and bonuses
Before considering which gold card of VTB 24 bank gives advantages, it is worth noting that such a banking product is suitable for wealthy clients who have a large income. It is necessary to take into account the fact that the price of the annual Gold service is several times higher than that of a classic card (Visa Classic).
The client receives some advantages, for example, the opportunity to receive services free of charge if the card turnover is at least 25,000 rubles per month. The average income of citizens of the Gold category is 50,000-80,000 thousand rubles, so it will not be difficult to spend 25,000 rubles paying with a card.
The advantages also include the ability to issue an additional card. You can apply for both yourself and your family members (spouse and children from 7 years old). All of them will be tied to a single account, and funds can be stored in any currency (in addition to rubles, these are dollars and euros).
In addition, the cardholder gets access to any remote service for managing his account via the Internet from the VTB system. With their help, it is very convenient to replenish an account, pay for various services, view information on completed transactions, and also issue a plastic reissue when its expiration date. To do this, you just need to leave a request, and then come to the bank branch and pick it up.
Nevertheless, the main advantage for most VTB cardholders is the cashback system, the essence of which is the accrual of interest on purchases and payments for any services.
Additional advantages of the VTB Gold Card:
- high protection of funds on the account;
- the ability to pay for purchases online using 3D-Secure technology;
- the ability to choose the most profitable products. You can get the type of Gold card that suits your interests and needs.
Cash withdrawal conditions
A very topical issue for customers is the question of the rules for withdrawing funds from VTB credit cards. If everything is extremely simple with debit plastic - its difference from credit is in a simple condition for withdrawing cash: free cashing at ATMs of the VTB system or cashing out with a commission of 1% in banks of another system - then using a credit card is a little more complicated.
Let's take a look at the nuances of the terms of use, which will allow you to withdraw funds with the least overpayment, especially abroad and in payment terminals of other banks.
Condition | Nuances |
---|---|
amount of commission | There is a commission for cashing money from a credit card. If you do not want to pay interest on withdrawal, it is recommended to keep your personal funds in the account. Thus, no commission will be charged for a transaction (under the terms of service). The size of the commission for cashing out depends on the credit card category, as well as on the partners of the VTB payment system. You can withdraw funds in the VTB payment system or from partner banks only by paying a commission fee of 5.5% of the total amount (at least 300 rubles). Of course, such conditions are not particularly beneficial for customers and are more likely to represent disadvantages than advantages. On the other hand, according to the tariff plan, the VTB Gold card has a grace period during which there will be no need to pay interest on the withdrawn funds. |
limit | Restrictions on withdrawing money from a VTB card depend on the category of plastic. For the Gold Card, you can withdraw money no more than 200,000 rubles per day and no more than 2,000,000 per month. It should be noted that despite the restrictions, the limit is quite large amounts, which, as a rule, allow the holder to withdraw the required amount of money. If they are not enough, you need to submit an application to the bank for a card with a category higher than Gold. |
use of payment terminals of banks of another system | Cash withdrawal from own ATMs and ATMs of partner banks is free. To use the Sberbank system or any other institution, the commission fee is 5.5%, but not less than 300 rubles. |
withdrawing cash from a VTB card abroad | Cashing out money from a VTB card abroad depends on which country you decide to visit. For example, VTB has its branches in many neighboring countries (Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and others). In them, cashing out occurs under the same conditions as in Russia. If the country you have decided to visit does not have a VTB payment system, then the conditions will depend on the type of card and the international payment system of the bank to which it is linked (Visa or Mastercard). Thus, if you plan to actively withdraw money abroad, you need to get a credit card with a suitable limit (for example, the "Platinum" package). VTB Bank managers will definitely give you advice about a Platinum card or any other category card. |
Annual maintenance
The cost for the annual service of a VTB card depends on its category. As mentioned above, you can also serve it free of charge, the amount of monthly spending is at least 25,000 rubles. In any other case, the cost is 3000 rubles.
