Despite this, salaries in the field of education leave much to be desired and currently professions in this area are not very popular among young people. For this reason, most educators continue to work in their jobs after the onset of the right to pension payments.
When is the pension due?
Since teachers are included in the category of people who are entitled to various benefits, their retirement is not quite usual.
In order to be eligible for pension payments, teachers do not have to wait until retirement age to receive it in old age. Pension to teachers begins to be paid for a certain period of teaching work.
The appointment of early insurance pensions for teachers occurs if the teacher has teaching experience, work in exactly one area, for at least twenty-five years.
The right to early retirement for teachers has always been, however, in the fairly near future they want to cancel this advantage. This means that people who are now just preparing to become teachers, or are at the very beginning of their careers, will no longer receive an early pedagogical pension. This reform is planned to be completed by early 2030.
In this case, a preferential pension for teachers is mandatory, regardless of whether the pensioner has reached the retirement age established in Russia or not. Teaching experience will be decisive here.
Also, there are exceptions and features when there is a chance to retire a little earlier. This rule only applies to certain individuals.
However, not all teachers are entitled to such a calculation. But it is also not necessary to be a teacher.
What will be included in the internship?
All the time spent on labor activity in a certain organization is the length of service. In addition to the hours spent at the workplace, the time spent on vacation is also counted. Both mandatory and optional. The experience is accumulated during sick leave, temporary disability or during parental leave, up to a certain time. Maternity leave should not exceed half a year.

The law identifies the following institutions, whose employees receive preferential "pensions for teachers":
- General education schools, gymnasiums and lyceums;
- boarding schools;
- Early development centers and preschool institutions;
- Kindergartens, nurseries;
- Orphanages and shelters;
- Sanatorium-type schools, schools at sanatoriums and hospitals;
- Schools of additional education;
- Musical, choreographic, art, sports schools;
- Schools specialized in in-depth study of the subject;
- Schools, technical schools, colleges, universities;
- Cadet corps and military schools.
Before applying for a pension, you need to check whether you fall under both lists, by profession and specialty. Pension to teachers is paid according to the compliance with both lists. If yes, then there will be no problems with the registration of the pension. But even if there is no coincidence, there are many exceptions that give the right to still go on vacation ahead of schedule.

How to apply for a pension
In any case, the pension for pedagogical workers comes earlier than for many representatives of other professions.
In order to start applying for a seniority pension status, you need to make sure that you have enough total teaching experience, it must be at least 25 years. this is taking into account maternity leave for no more than a year and a half and various holidays, which are certainly included in the length of service. Also, you need to check whether your organization and profession are on the list of those whose employees can count on a preferential pension. If everything is in order with these points, then you can deal with paperwork.
- First of all, to receive a pension, you need to contact the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at the place of residence or at the place of temporary registration;
- Documents are submitted in various ways. You can do this via the Internet, using the State Services Portal, for this you need to go through a simple registration on the site, or by contacting the FIU in person.
What documents are required?
To obtain the status of a pensioner, for a preferential pension, the following package of documents must be submitted along with the application:
- Application for retirement, with the specified personal data. It should include such information: Last name, first name, patronymic, all passport data, a request for a pension, confirmed by a reference to the relevant law, the date of the application, a signature with a transcript.
- A document proving your identity, a passport with copies of its main pages;
- Snils;

- Recent income statement;
- Military ID, if it's a man.
This is a standard set of documents, but it is possible that in some individual cases some additional documents may be required. The pension fund will inform you about this.
After acceptance of all documents, the pension fund considers them no more than ten days. PF checks the accuracy of all entries in the work book and the accuracy of all data. At this point, pension fund employees have the right to ask for any additional documents.
In the event that the documents are not available for any reason, the process may drag on for several months.
After checking all the data, a decision is made on the appointment of a pension or on the refusal of it. A detailed reason is provided with the denial. Usually, pension payments are accrued from the moment the application was submitted. If the submission of the necessary documents is delayed for up to three months, the pension is accrued from the moment all the necessary papers are provided.
Minimum pension
Everyone who has worked can count on pension payments in the minimum amount. It is calculated based on the salary. On average, this is about forty percent of wages.
The minimum labor pension will be influenced by such factors as the number of hours worked, the category of the teacher, the presence of any honorary titles and bonuses, the size of the teaching load, and some circumstances that increase wages. These include labor activity in some difficult and dangerous areas of the country, and the like. As a surcharge, the years of labor activity carried out after the onset of pension right are added to such a payment. For each working year - plus one percent of salary to pension.
The amount of such pension may not exceed seventy percent of income.
The average pension without supplements in the field of education does not reach ten thousand rubles, barely bordering on the subsistence level.
Calculation of preferential pension
