In April, the Bank of Russia announced that paper money would soon appear in the treatment of 200 and 2000 rubles. The reason for such a decision was the simplification of transactions in the economy, because in connection with the decline in inflation, most of the calculations of Russian citizens fell into the interval between 500 and 1000 rubles.
In the upper price segment in the same way - the purchase of goods and services accounted for amounts between 1,000 and 5,000 rubles. The design of the bill was decided to choose according to the results of the All-Russian voting. What will be the monetary signs of the "intermediate" nominal, which Russians will see already in 2016?
"Cash" of the city of Russia - the continuation of the tradition
The Russian practice of emissions of paper money has a bright feature: at bills are depicted not great figures and state managers, and cities and characterizing their characters. This tradition has been conducted since 1995. It is designed to note the most indicative regions of a huge country.
When the decision was made to issue new money, head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Nabiullina E. noted that the continuation of the tradition is quite natural, because there are already images of such attractions on existing banknotes:
According to the leadership of the Bank of Russia, the choice of the region, a worthy image on new money should be public. The results of the voting, which now comes in full swing, will be announced at the end of 2016.
Voting for the design - who marks leaders?
To determine the design of new money, the Bank of Russia has created a separate website on which online voting is now. Any citizen of Russia can take part in it. In general, the procedure involves three stages:
- From June 28 to July 28, the list of cities and symbols is drawn up: each participant vote for one city and indicates no more than 4-related characters;
- From 5.08 to 30.08 Conduct a public opinion polling and a choice of cities. scored more than 5,000 votes of 10 nominees;
- From 5.09 to 5.10 Total vote on 10 selected settlements and the definition of winners.
Already on October 7, 2016, Russians learn what kind of design will have their new money. So far, a lot of assumptions are put forward. Most often an opinion is expressed that:
- The 200-ruble bill will decorate the image of the monument to flooded ships and Chersonese Tauride (Sevastopol);
- 2000-ruble - Bridge on Russian Island and Golden Bridge (Vladivostok). By the way, the latter was already depicted on Russian banknotes with a par value of 1000 rubles in 1995.
A lot of chances and the Mosque "The Heart of Chechnya" (Grozny), which, in the opinion, the head of the Chechen Republic R. Kadyrov can become a symbol of updated Russia, as well as at the monument at Mamaev Kurgan (Volgograd), which will become a grant of the memory of the heroes V.O.V. .
In Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Tula are chosen three symbols of the city, which are also among the leaders.
In total, 56 cities and 96 characters were selected at the first stage. Moreover, the 49 settlements and 76 of their attractions have already gained more than 5,000 votes.
Practical justification
The emission of the "intermediate" banknotes with a denomination of 200 and 2000 rubles is marked by the Bank of Russia as the necessary measure of the optimization of monetary circulation against the background of suppressing inflationary processes. It happens on the background:
- Exemptions from the turnover of dilapidated bills of lower nominal value;
- Reduced inflation, which by the end of 2016 should be 4-6%.
In Belarus, from July 1, 2016, a denomination will be held. Alexander Lukashenko on November 4 signed Decree No. 450 "On holding a denomination of the official monetary unit of the Republic of Belarus". This is reported by the press service of the President of Belarus.

The general design concept of new banknotes corresponds to the motto "May Krain - Belarus." Each banknote is dedicated to one of the regions of Belarus and Minsk. The compliance of the area of \u200b\u200bthe rating of banknotes is determined in alphabetical order. An image of a banknote with a denomination of 5 rubles is devoted to the Brest region, 10 rubles - the Vitebsk region, 20 rubles - the Gomel region, 50 rubles - the Grodno region, 100 rubles - Minsk region, 200 rubles - Mogilev region, 500 rubles - Minsk. How new Belarusian money will look like, you can see.
The President of Belarus warned about the denomination
Recall, the conversations about the denomination rose more than once. In 2014, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with representatives of the media, stated that the design of new banknotes and kopecks was already approved, and they would "remind the euro."
He also declared that the denomination will be announced in Belarus for six months. "We will think with specialists when this period comes. Here you have to be very careful, "said the head of state.
We are ready to carry out a denomination at any time. But still even for this technical step must be certain conditions. There should be no such interest rate, there should be no alarms on the market so that the population is not worried. And in the economy so that there were no crisis phenomena. "
"Therefore, we will pick up time and this is not less than half a year," the president noted. - In parallel during the year, at least the old rubles will also go, and new rubles. "
The President noted that new money was already approved, and, on a par with bills in Belarus, the coins may be also going. According to the head of state, externally new money is similar to the euro.
"We do not hide, we are ready for this process for a long time," said Alexander Lukashenko. "But you need to pick up the time so that in any way people do not reproach that we conducted a denomination, and someone had betrayed this. I will have a tough requirement: if we are rounded in prices, then only in a smaller side. People will not lose anything here. "
The president once again assured that the denomination will be told in advance. "I guarantee! I will not deceive, "said the head of state.
Based on Tut.BY. and Site. National Bank of the Republic of Belarus
The economy and Belarusian society have fully adapted to new bills and coins that were put into appeal exactly a year ago after the denomination, which occurred on July 1, 2016.
Sputnik remembers how the denomination was held in Belarus, and also analyzes how the "cut off of the extra zeros" was perceived by the economy, banking community and ordinary citizens and what consequences on prices were from the denomination.
Denomination: the third and most difficult
The denomination took place in Belarus on July 1, 2016: new banknotes and coins were introduced into appeal - sample 2009. At the same time, coins in the history of the sovereign republic appeared for the first time.
In 2015, the denomination was known about the denomination: a decree on holding a denomination in Belarus was signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on November 4, 2015.
The last denomination also became more technically difficult: not only banking equipment, but also thousands of ATMs, payment terminals in stores, catering and service enterprises, vending machines, vending machines, vehicles and gas stations were to translate into new software. In addition, it was necessary to reconfigure the remote banking service systems, mobile banking and Internet banking, change price tags in stores and make many more technical events. A large-scale information work, which, starting from November 2015, was conducted by National Bank, commercial banks and trade enterprises and catering.
On average, banks for the reconfiguration of the equipment were estimated at millions of dollars.
It is noteworthy that from July 1, in Belarus, not only the replacement of monetary signs occurred in Belarus: budget government documents, international and domestic obligations of the Government and the National Bank were translated into new units of measurement, the assets of all enterprises, the cost of shares, bonds and other securities in Belarusian rubles were translated. Correction in "Minus Four Zero" was also subjected to salaries, amounts on current accounts, loans and deposits of citizens in Belarusian rubles.
Why did the denomination in Belarus?
The denominations of Belarusians were waiting for about 2011, but for several years Belarusian authorities assured that so far for monetary reform is not yet time: inflation is too large.
Approximately a year before the denomination, the ex-head of the National Bank Nadezhda Yermakova joked in communication with journalists, which there is no sense to carry out a denomination: according to her, the number of zeros is still placed on banknotes, and the banknote themselves are in the wallets of citizens.
However, already in 2015, when Belstat published data on the results of the work of the Belarusian economy for 2014, it became clear that the size of the country's GDP "does not fit into trillions of rubles," and not particularly knowledgeable in mathematics to Belarusian journalists, but at the same time - to Belstatu I urgently had to remember The name of the order of numbers exceeding the trillion is called.
By the same time, other calculations of large sums were too bulky.
Another unofficial cause in society is called the fact that new money printed in 2009 and placed in the republic of the National Bank allegedly began to deteriorate. Presenting new money to journalists, in the National Bank refuted this information, but immediately after July 1, citizens massively faced defects on coins.
How did the new Belarusian money introduced?
Belarusian commercial banks in advance have been loading new cash in ATMs and warned citizens that bank branches and remote banking services will not work. In addition, the National Bank allowed banks on July 1, do not carry out customer service due to the fact that the conduct of a number of operations will be limited.
On the day of denominations, many banks did not work, on Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3, a number of banking offices worked in a limited mode, only some operations were available to clients - mainly currency exchange and money exchange.

For several days, the country has moved almost completely into cash money.
Already from scratch watches on July 1, many ATMs began to issue new cash bills to customers, but in the first days after the denomination, the delivery in stores was given to old money.
In those days, there were problems with payment in payment terminals that make cash, as well as in parking lots and vending machines, and, for example, the inhabitants of Minsk had to run in search of old money.
It is noteworthy that it was originally noted when the Belarusians could receive Russian coins on the markets.
How did trade react?
Trade crossed new price tags gradually.
At first, in order for citizens to get used to the ratio of new and old prices, prices in the 2000 and 2009 prices indicated prices. Double price tags appeared in stores not immediately, although trade enterprises were preparing for denominations seriously.
From January 1, 2017, according to the provisions of the Denomination, trade, public catering and spheres have been required to indicate prices for goods and services only in new monetary units. True, in early December 2016, Mart clarified that the process of changing the label labels, and allowed trade to spend some time on this work - but no more than two months.
Now in Belarusian stores, all price tags - only in cash units of 2009.
Where did the old money go?
Parallel walking of monetary marks of the 2000 year and sample 2009 ended in Belarus from January 1, 2017. However, the old banknotes of the National Bank began to be removed from the appeal immediately after the denomination.
As of the end of December 2016, 96% of the amount of Sample 2000 or 58% of their amount was destroyed from the circulation of 96% of their number, 177.5 million left banknotes were destroyed.
Now the percentage of withdrawal is slightly higher - about 97%.

Back in 2015, presenting new money to journalists, representatives of the National Bank said that the 2000 Sample bills made from the turnover will be crushed, pressing special briquettes and stored in the secret repository. It is impossible to burn banknotes, since there are many poisonous and toxic substances when burning such paper.
According to the estimates of the National Bank, there are only 600 million billing of the sample of different dignity in the turnover of various dignity. It is about 7.5 thousand containers used for interbank transport, or 600 tons of banknotes. If it was necessary to simultaneously take all these banknotes to the place of destroy, would have to use at least ten railway cars.
Almost two thirds of small money used mainly for the change, are still on the hands of citizens. Their receipt in the National Bank was expected in the first quarter of the current year, however, as experience shows, only half of such banknotes is returned at the Central Bank's cash register.
The destruction process will be completed after the receipt of the last 2000 sample banknote.
Whether prices have changed after the denomination?
The main fear of financial experts and the population was that with a reduction in the number of zeros on bills, the rise in prices will accelerate.
However, as the data of official statistics showed, in 2016, inflation did not even achieve a planned parameter - when a 12% forecast increased by 11.8%.
True, as evidenced by the data of independent monitoring of the price of the Russian trade union federations, which were made public on Wednesday, for the year prices for significant goods did not grow by 11.8%, but about two times more - up to 24%.
Financial experts believe that the so-called "effect of low numbers" played its role here: when a person does not attach significance to small amounts of money and does not understand their real purchasing value. "It would seem that such fifty kopecks are. But you can buy a bun and a bottle of kefir and dinner," the head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko celebrated at one time in an interview with Sputnik.
Are Belarusians got used to new money?
For the year, Belarusians are generally accustomed to new monetary signs. Most citizens are no longer engaged in recalculation of prices in the calculus "with four zeros" before July 1, 2016.
Citizens learned to pay not only by rubles, but also with kopecks, they realized how to measure the amounts with their planned expenses.
Easier steel and currency relations.
Experts also suggest that the denomination had a positive psychological effect on the processes on the dedollarization of the economy. If earlier in order to understand what amount we are talking about the fact that millions of rubles were in mind, it was necessary to recount everything into dollars, then today everyone understands: it is enough to simply divide the amount by two. The course of the Belarusian ruble to the dollar has been stable for a year and a half and fluctuates in the area of \u200b\u200b1.9-2 rubles per dollar.
Therefore, everyone understands: 100 rubles is $ 50. And if there is such an understanding, then why do extra counting.
